# Chart Types

> Switch between the basic line chart and the advanced candlestick chart on any market, or set your default in Settings.

Every market screen opens with a clean line chart of the price. If you want more detail, switch to the advanced candlestick view using the toggle under the chart.

## What changes

## How to switch

1. Open any market from **Trade**.
2. Under the chart, tap the toggle on the right (line icon / candle icon) to switch to candlesticks.
3. Use the timeframe menu on the left (for example **30m**) to change the candle interval.
4. Drag the chart to scrub through time, or drag along the price axis to move up and down.

## Set your default

To open every market in your preferred view, go to **Profile → Settings → Default Chart Type** and choose **Basic (line)** or **Advanced (candlesticks)**.

  Each candle shows the open, high, low, and close for that interval. Green means the price closed higher than it opened; red means lower. The volume bars underneath show how much was traded in each interval, which helps you tell a move with conviction from a thin one.
