# Points

> Alpha points reward the two things that grow the platform: bringing in traders and trading volume.

Points are Alpha's way of keeping score on the two things that matter most: bringing people in, and trading. Do either and you earn points. Do both and you earn more.

Alpha points are earned through two actions:

| Action | How it earns points |
| - | - |
| **Referrals** | Bringing new traders to Alpha through your referral link |
| **Trading volume** | The size of the positions you open and close |

Both count. A trader with a large network and a trader with large volume can both earn meaningfully; the program is designed so that neither one dominates.

Your points are visible under **Profile**.

Points are separate from [revenue share](/faq/revenue-share), which pays out in USDC. You can earn both at once.
