# Account Creation

> How to create an Alpha account, verify your identity with KYC, and start trading.

## How do I create an account?

    Open the app and tap **Sign Up**. Enter your email or phone number and verify it.

## Why do I need to verify my identity?

Identity verification (KYC — "Know Your Customer") is required to comply with global financial regulations and protect against fraud, money laundering, and underage use. We use **Sumsub**, a leading verification provider trusted by regulated platforms worldwide.

## What documents do I need?

* A **government-issued photo ID** (passport, driver's license, or national ID card)
* A **live selfie** (we'll guide you through it in-app)
* Proof of address (only if required for your region)

  Make sure your ID is valid (not expired), the photo is clear, and all four corners of the document are visible.

## How long does verification take?

Most verifications complete in **under 5 minutes**. Manual review can take up to 24–48 hours. You'll get a notification when you're approved.

## My verification was rejected — what do I do?

Common reasons:

* ID is expired, damaged, or unclear
* Selfie doesn't match the ID photo
* Information you entered doesn't match your ID
* Document type isn't supported in your country

Re-submit with corrected documents from the app. If you're still stuck, [contact support](/support/contact-support).

## Can I have more than one account?

No. Each person can have only one Alpha account. Multiple accounts may be flagged and closed.

## How do I update my personal info?

Go to **Settings → Account** in the app. Some changes (like name or country of residence) may require re-verification.

## How do I close my account?

**Settings → Account → Close Account**. Before closing:

1. Close all open positions
2. Withdraw all remaining funds
3. Confirm closure
