# Adding Funds

Alpha balances are held in **USDC**, a dollar stablecoin. Whatever method you deposit with, it arrives in your account as USDC ready to trade.

## Depositing with a card

Alpha lets you choose between multiple card providers rather than locking you into one. Providers differ on fees, limits, and which countries they serve. The app shows the total you will receive from each so you can compare. Payment providers may ask for their own verification for larger amounts; that is between you and the provider, and Alpha never sees your card details.

## Depositing stablecoins

Your Alpha wallet accepts **one asset on one network: USDC on Arbitrum.** Nothing else.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Tap Deposit → Stablecoin">
    Your deposit address is shown in the app. The network is Arbitrum.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for confirmation">
    Most transfers land in under a minute.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Only send **USDC**, and only on **Arbitrum**. Sending any other token, or sending USDC on a different network such as Ethereum, Base, or Solana, can result in permanent loss of funds. If you are unsure, send a small test amount first.
</Warning>

To verify you have the right asset and network:

* The official USDC contract on Arbitrum is listed in [Circle's USDC contract addresses](https://developers.circle.com/stablecoins/usdc-contract-addresses).
* Arbitrum network details (chain ID 42161) are on [Chainlist](https://chainlist.org/chain/42161).

**Depositing from a centralized exchange.** Most large exchanges support USDC withdrawals on Arbitrum. On the exchange's withdrawal screen, select USDC, choose the Arbitrum network, and paste your Alpha deposit address. If Arbitrum is not offered for USDC on your exchange, do not use a different network; use a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay instead.

## My deposit has not arrived

1. Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay: check the status in **Activity**. Declines usually come from your bank; call the number on the back of your card.
2. Stablecoin: confirm the transaction completed on the network you sent it on.
3. If it has been more than 30 minutes, [contact support](/faq/contact-support) with the transaction ID.
