## Socials: signing in with Google or Apple

Alpha supports three sign-in methods, and all three work the same way:

| Method | What happens |
| - | - |
| Google | Sign in with your Google account. No password stored by Alpha. |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple ID, including Face ID or Touch ID. You can hide your email from Alpha if you choose. |
| Email | Enter your email, then the one-time code we send. |

Your wallet and your funds are tied to the sign-in method you choose. Always use the same one.

<Warning>
  Pick one sign-in method and stick with it. Your funds live in the wallet created for that login.
</Warning>

## Your public profile

Every Alpha account has a public profile. It is pre-populated with a random username; change it to something people will recognize. Your profile shows:

* Your open positions, so friends and followers can see what you are longing and shorting
* Performance stats: total PnL, best trade, volume, average hold period, and number of trades

This is what people see when they tap your name on the leaderboard, in a competition, or from a link you share. See [Creator tools](/grow/creator-tools) for how to share it.

## Do I need to verify my identity?

No. You do not need to submit an ID to create an account, deposit, trade, or withdraw. Identity verification is only required if you win a trading competition and need to collect a prize. See [Competitions](/faq/competitions).

## Can I have more than one account?

No. One account per person. Duplicate accounts may be closed and any competition winnings forfeited.

## What about a wallet?

You already have one. Alpha created a wallet for you the moment you signed in, secured by your login. There is no seed phrase to write down. See [Security](/faq/security).
