# Tax & Reporting

> How taxes on perpetual futures gains work, where to find your trading history, and what reports Alpha provides.

<Warning>
  Tax treatment of perpetual futures varies by country and is your responsibility. **Alpha does not provide tax advice.** Consult a qualified tax professional in your jurisdiction.
</Warning>

## Will Alpha send me tax documents?

Alpha provides trading history exports that you can share with your tax advisor. Whether Alpha issues specific tax forms (such as a 1099 in the US) depends on the entity structure and your country of residence.

## Where can I find my trading history?

Go to **Settings → Statements** to download your full trading history as a CSV. The export includes:

* All trades (entries, exits, partial closes)
* Funding payments
* Fees
* Deposits and withdrawals

## Are gains on perps taxable?

In most countries, yes — but the specific treatment (capital gains, ordinary income, derivative-specific rules) varies widely. Common categories include:

* **Capital gains** (in some jurisdictions)
* **Ordinary income** (in others)
* **Specialized derivatives treatment** (in some markets)

A qualified tax professional in your country can tell you which applies.

## What records should I keep?

* Your full trading history CSV from **Settings → Statements**
* Deposit and withdrawal records
* Records of any conversions between crypto and fiat
