You pay one small fee when you open a trade and one when you close it. It is a fraction of a percent of the position size. On a $1,000 position it is roughly fifty cents to a dollar each way, depending on the market. There are no monthly charges, no inactivity fees, and nothing you are not shown before you tap confirm.

How the trading fee is built

Every fill pays two parts, added together and shown as one number on the confirmation screen: Both are calculated on the full position size, not your margin. A $100 margin at 10x is a $1,000 position, so fees apply to $1,000.

Exchange fee by market type

The exchange fee depends on two things: whether you are a taker (a market order, or any order that fills immediately) or a maker (a limit order that rests on the book before filling), and which kind of market you are trading. Growth Mode is a reduced-fee setting the exchange applies to newer market categories, including the stock, index, and commodity markets Alpha lists. It cuts the exchange fee on those markets by at least 90%, so on a Growth Mode market almost the entire fee you pay is Alpha’s flat 0.05%. Exchange rates above are the base tier. High-volume traders (over $5M in 14 days) receive lower exchange rates automatically. The exact fee for your order is always shown on the confirmation screen before you submit.

Worked examples

Closing pays the same again on the size you close.

Leverage fee

The hourly leverage fee (called the funding rate on other platforms) is separate from trading fees. It is a payment between long and short traders, not a fee collected by Alpha or the exchange. See Leverage fee.

Deposit fees

Withdrawal fees

Liquidation fees

There is no separate liquidation fee. If a position is liquidated, the margin assigned to it is used to close the position. See Liquidations.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Every trading, deposit, and withdrawal fee is shown on the confirmation screen before you commit. The public schedule is at tradealpha.app/fees.
