What can I trade?

Perpetual futures on four asset classes: The full, current list is in the app under Trade. New markets are added regularly.
You are trading a contract that tracks the price of each asset, not the asset itself. See Perpetual futures for what that means in practice.

When can I trade?

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every market on Alpha is open nights, weekends, and holidays, including stock and index markets that are closed on traditional exchanges. If news breaks on a Sunday, you can act on it on Sunday.

What makes Alpha social?

  • Public profiles. Every trader has a profile showing their open positions and performance. Pick a username and profile picture and make it yours.
  • Leaderboard and feed. See who is performing, what they are trading, and follow along in real time.
  • Competitions. Trade against your group or a creator’s community with a live leaderboard and prizes.
  • Referrals and revenue share. Bring traders to Alpha and earn a share of the fees they generate, up to 51% across your network. See Grow with Alpha.
  • Shareable PnL cards. Post your results anywhere with one tap.

What Alpha is not

  • Not a stock broker. You do not own shares, receive dividends, or hold voting rights. You hold a contract that tracks the price.
  • Not a custodian. Your funds sit in a wallet that only you control. See Security.

Is Alpha free?

Downloading and signing up is free. You pay a trading fee when you open or close a position, and a small network fee when you withdraw. Every fee is shown before you confirm. See Fees.

How old do I need to be?

You must be at least 18, or the legal age for trading in your jurisdiction if higher.

Where is Alpha available?

Alpha operates only in jurisdictions where it can legally serve users. If you can create an account from the app store in your country, you are in a supported region. Using a VPN to get around restrictions violates the Terms and Conditions.
