Custody of funds
Alpha is self-custodial. When you create an account, a wallet is generated for you by Privy, a wallet infrastructure provider used by many consumer apps. Your funds live in that wallet. What that means in practice:- Alpha cannot move your funds. Every deposit, trade, and withdrawal is authorized by you, from your device.
- Alpha cannot freeze your funds. There is no admin control over your wallet.
- No seed phrase. Your wallet is secured by your Google, Apple, or email login, not by 24 words you have to store.
- Your login is the master key. Keep it secure. Anyone who controls your Google, Apple, or email account can access your Alpha wallet.
How the app is protected
- Biometrics. Face ID, Touch ID, or your Android biometrics gate the app and confirm withdrawals.
- Sign in with Google and Apple. Both carry the security of those accounts, including any two-factor protection you have set on them.
- Email one-time codes. Codes expire quickly and can only be used once.
Export your private key
Because the wallet is yours, you can export its private key and use it in any compatible wallet.1
Go to Profile → Settings → Export Wallet Key
2
Select Reveal private key
A Privy window opens.
3
Sign in to Privy
Use the same email address you use for Alpha. This confirms you are the wallet owner.
4
Copy your private key
Store it somewhere safe. Never paste it into a website, message, or app you do not fully trust.
What if I lose my phone?
Your wallet is tied to your login, not your device. Install Alpha on a new phone, sign in the same way you did before, and everything is there. What if Alpha shuts down?
Your wallet and funds are independent of Alpha. You can export your private key at any time and access your funds from another wallet.Staying safe
- Only download Alpha from the official App Store and Google Play listings.
- Alpha will never DM you asking for a code, a password, or your private key.
- Only
tradealpha.appand its subdomains are official. - If you think your account is compromised, secure the Google, Apple, or email account you sign in with first, then contact support.
